AP tutoring built around scoring a 5/5

A score of 3 earns you nothing. Our AP tutors focus on the specific rubric requirements, free-response structures, and examiner expectations that separate a 3 from a 5, because that's where college credit is earned.

The four-stage AP prep path

01

Diagnostic assessment

A subject-specific diagnostic to identify content gaps, FRQ weaknesses, and MCQ accuracy. We map exactly where you stand against the AP scoring rubric before session one.

02

Content mastery

Structured sessions covering all AP units, with explicit attention to the concepts and skills that appear most frequently in both MCQ and FRQ sections.

03

FRQ strategy training

Rubric-aligned FRQ practice every session. Students learn how AP readers score responses and practise writing answers that hit each scoring point deliberately.

04

Full-length mock exams

Timed, full-length AP-style mocks under real exam conditions. Written score analysis after each mock shows exactly which questions cost marks and why.

All Questions Answered

Common questions about our tutoring services

Yes, and this is common. Many of our students are on an IB or A Level programme and taking one or two AP exams alongside to strengthen their US university applications. We coordinate the scheduling so AP prep doesn't conflict with IB or A Level deadlines. There is significant content overlap between IB HL subjects and AP, we leverage that rather than treating them separately.
Students who start AP preparation at the beginning of the academic year (September) and work consistently for one full year are best positioned for a 4 or 5. Students joining in January for a May exam can still make meaningful score improvements with 3–4 months of focused preparation. We adjust the intensity and pacing based on when you start.
Yes, AP exams are available globally through College Board and recognised at the same credit-awarding threshold regardless of where the student sits them. Most US universities award credit for scores of 4 or 5, though the specific credit awarded varies by university and subject. We advise students to check their target university's AP credit policy before committing to specific subjects.
You can take the course at school for GPA credit, but you must take the National AP Exam in May to earn college credit. Tychr supports both: we help with your school's ongoing coursework and provide intensive "Cram Sessions" for the May exams.
FRQs are where most students lose points. We teach the specific College Board Rubrics, showing students how to use "Key Terms" and "Evidence-Based Arguments" to secure every possible point from the graders.
Absolutely. We mentor students through the Performance Tasks, helping with source evaluation, evidence synthesis, and the academic thesis requirements for both the Seminar and Research modules.
